SnapVik, operated by SnapVik, respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects every user to do the same. This policy explains how to report content you believe infringes your copyright, in line with the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and equivalent UK and international copyright law.
SnapVik is a neutral host of user-generated content. All photos, captions, comments and other material are created and uploaded by users, who are solely responsible for them. SnapVik does not pre-screen, endorse or claim ownership of user content and is not liable for it. Where we are notified of allegedly infringing material, we act under the "notice and takedown" process below and rely on the hosting/intermediary protections available under applicable law.
If you are a copyright owner (or authorised to act for one) and believe content on SnapVik infringes your copyright, send a written notice to hello@snapvik.com including all of the following:
Incomplete notices may not be actioned. Submitting a knowingly false claim may make you liable for damages and costs.
On receiving a valid notice we will, within a reasonable time, remove or disable access to the reported material and make reasonable efforts to notify the user who posted it. We may do this without prior notice and without liability to any party, as permitted by law.
If your content was removed and you believe this was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to hello@snapvik.com containing your signature, identification of the removed material and its previous location, your contact details, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake. We may restore the content unless the original complainant pursues a legal remedy.
In appropriate circumstances, and at our sole discretion, we will disable or terminate the accounts of users who are repeat infringers. We may also remove any content and restrict any account at any time, with or without notice, where we believe in good faith that this policy, our Terms of Service or the law has been breached.
Nothing in this policy waives any right or protection available to SnapVik under law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SnapVik is not liable for user-posted content, for removing content, or for declining to remove content. This policy is governed by the law of United Kingdom and should be read together with our Terms of Service.
